Speaking on behalf of the host country Roger Meyer welcomed the participants and thanked the ECC and other federations for their support. Also in the prize distribution ceremony on 12th evening, ECC president Arif Naqvi praised the arrangements and claimed that the 13th Euro Cup was a great success and the excellent performances of the players in 13th Euro Cup will also reflect in the Carrom World Cup in in USA.

In case names for the tie are not submitted half-an-hour before the fixed time, walkover is liable to be awarded to the opponent team. The team winning a tie in the league shall be awarded two points irrespective of the fact that it wins by a or margin.
The team event shall be played on the basis of league-cum-knockout basis. All the matches of the league shall be played on the basis of best three games of eight boards or 25 points whichever is earlier. The position of the teams shall be decided on the basis of aggregate points secured by the teams in the league. If Seven to eleven teams are entered, all the teams shall be divided into two zones. The strength of each zone shall be with a maximum difference of one.
If twelve to twenty-seven teams are entered, all the teams shall be divided into four zones. If twenty-eight or more teams are entered, the teams shall be divided into eight zones.
In case of tie of points between two teams for top two places in any zone, the earlier result of the tie played between the two teams shall decide their relative position. In case there is again a tie even at this stage, the points average for and against shall be taken into account and their position determined. A copy of Draw and Schedule of Matches shall be put on the Notice Board and shall serve as the official intimation to the competitors regarding the program and time of play.
Such substitution can take place right till the time the first session of the particular event for which the substitution has been sought, has started. But once begun, no substitution shall take place at all.
Substitution in doubles is permitted to enable a doubles pair have a substitute partner provided the constitution of no other doubles, pair is effected.
A player shall compete only once in the same event at any competition. The tournament started with 12 players showing up on time out of the 16 who had signed up. The format was same as doubles, 4 rounds of SRR to pick the top 8 players for the knock outs. The competition was very tough this year, as any one from the top 8 was a potential trophy contender.
The top seeded players were defending champion Srikanth Bangalore and US rank 10 Sebastien Blandin, but there were also past local tourney winners Vamshi Boinpalli, Bala Parthasarathy, and visiting Indian player Amit Petkar who were vying for the trophy. As if the bar weren't set high enough already, the 1st round saw 3rd seed Bala Parthasarathy suffer an early upset at the hands of new player Ram Vedula, who exhibited super strong basics and easily won the game in 7 boards.
Another new player Sachin Kolte also showed exceptional skill with the striker and made a totally in-form Amit Petkar work for every point of his win. With the standings sent for a toss so early in the tournament, the atmosphere turned tense very quickly in the hall and the pressure level started climbing up. After the lunch break, the drama continued with Ram Vedula knocking out Sebastien Blandin in an uber-close quarter final match.
It was followed by another upset defeat of defending champion Srikanth Bangalore in the hands of a ruthless Amit Petkar in the semis By the end of the day, the stage was set for a final duel between Amit Petkar and Bala Parthasarathy.
The game seemed one-sided when Bala took a huge lead of in 3 boards, but Amit displayed excellent temperament and narrowed the gap to in the next 3 boards, hence levelling the playing field.
Amit started the final board trailing with a difficult but achievable 10 point target, but a missed opportunity on a white-slam proved too costly for him and Bala won the match and championship.
